1 ~ ~ • This is an addendum to the November 20, 1992 Proposed Decision and Findings of Compliance of the Meeker Area Mines Phase II Bond Release prepared by the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology. That document contains a summary of the administrative process, the Division's findings and proposed decision in regard to an application for partial bond release of the Meeker Area Mines. This addendum is to clarify the "Proposed Decision" section found on page seven of the original document. The original proposed decision indicated that three areas were excluded from the decision to release 25 percent of the remaining bond. Those areas were, 1. 6.24 acres north of the haul road at the Northern No. 1 Mine where vegetative cover did not meet success standards, 2. the 1.40 acre site of the Rienau No. 2 sediment ponds and, 3. the Refuse Disposal Area sediment pond. Two additional topics which were addressed in the Division's July 24, 1987 decision regarding Phase I bond release were not specifically addressed in the November 20, 1992 Phase II decision document. Those were; 1. a 0.2 acre area at the Northern No. 1 Mine where a small slide had occurred and, 2. documentation of sealing of all monitoring wells associated with the Meeker Area Mines. These two tasks have not yet been evaluated sufficiently. They are hereby added to the three remaining reclamation tasks referred to above and listed on page seven of the November 20, 1992 proposed decision document. As a result of the November 20, 1992 decision to grant a partial bond release, the Division retains a reclamation bond in the amount of $184,071.00 for remaining reclamation work at the Meeker Area Mines. As required by Rule 3.03.1(3)(d), the Division finds that this bond is sufficient to complete all remaining reclamation tasks at the site. c:\wp51\61494
