Shelton
Director
This amendment application is considered adequate for the January 27-28,
1982 meeting of the Mined Land Reclamation Board. Most of my questions
and concerns were addressed during the original permit process. A11 top-
soil encountered on the amendment Lands should be stripped and stockpiled
for later replacement, where possible, to improve the chances of rapid
vegetation establishment. A12 compacted roads and work areas should be
ripped prior to the commencement of revegetation work,
The amendment acreage falls into the moderate disturbance category and
will remain disturbed for the life of the mine. Therefore, the staff will
recommend that the existing 517,500.00 bond be increased to 531,100.00.
Moderate disturbance reclamation costs are as follows:
0
Soil Preparation
F
ili
i @
@ $ 60.00/acre =
$120
00
= 51,200.0
y3oe.~ ~ / i~Sf~E,
q'
00'boo
2
400
ert
zat
on .
/acre ,
,
.
t
~
~~
Seeding @ $100.00/acre = 2,000.00 S°ar /
'~
2 p
~
Mulch @ $400,00/acre = B,000.OOioo O. /w
TOTAL: $13,600.0
~3`/dfl•
Please submit the proof of publication and adjacent landowner notification
prior to the scheduled Board meeting.
If there are any questions, feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
James B.
