tor. Fred Banta Page Two
October 28, 1982
The Bear Coal Company would also like to request the ability to haul
underground development v+aste to the Hotchkiss/Delta landfill as part
of an agreement with Western Slope Carbon. The Bear Coal Company made
previous arrangements with Western Slope Carbon to dispose of minor
amounts of underground development waste from the bear No. 1 and 2
operations at the landfill site.
Any runoff from underground development waste stored on the surface
will he collected in the sedimentation pond established at the Bear
No. 3 operation. Extra care will be taken when hauling underground
development waste from the portals to minimize or• prevent any
spillage. Likewise, the underground development waste will 6e located
araay from any diversion ditches or the topsoil stockpile.
I appreciate your attention to our' request fur a minor revision.
Unfortunately, we did not anticipate the need to temporarily store
underground development waste on the surface.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please do
not hesitate to contact ine.
Sincerely,
BEA1R`I COAL COI+IPA/NY/n1' r` ~1,,,,
William A.
