Permit
No. C-82-056
Twentymile Coal Company is requesting a minor revision to the above referenced permit to
allow for the conducting of a site investigation to determine final location artd design parameters
for a permanent waste rock disposal site. This site will also accommodate reject material
generated from a future preparation plant. Once the revision is approved it is anticipated cite
field work will commence in late May, although the schedule is dependent on weather and field
conditions.
The site investigation will require field reconnaissance, backhoe test pits and borings. It is
anticipated an auger will be used for the borings, although a rotary rig may be used if necessary.
A total of four test pits and five borings aze proposed in this minor revision. Along with this
activity another five borings and two test pits will be covered by a notice of intent. As you can
envision the disturbance resulting from this activity will be very limited.
I u-ould suggest that the proposed bond of $2,100 be noted and deferred until the bond is
finalized during the midterm review. This would be the most effective manner to handle the
bonding resulting from this activity.
If there are questions, please contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Richard Mills
Supervisor, Environmental Affairs
RAM/rm/pe/dg
Attachment
