C-96-083) <br />Technical Revision Application No. 9 (TR-9) ~ . <br />Incidental Boundary Change <br />Dear Mr. Pearson: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph. <br />4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes. That on February I8, 1999, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Bowie <br />No.2lvtinewastxtnsideredcompleteforrhepurposesoffiling. The revision was submitted by Bowie Resources Limited. All <br />review and comment periods as provided in the Act and [he Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />Approval of this technical revision would allow an incidental boundary change in order to conduct development mining in <br />federal coal. This [echrical revision carr not be approved until Bowie Resources has secured the federal lease for the right of <br />entry tc that federal coal. The incidental boundary change would add 59 acres of private surface and 20 arses of federal surface <br />to the northwest comzr of the permit area. The entire 79 acre proposed addition is fedeml coal. There wouid not be any change <br />in the conventional. room and pillar mining method employed nor would there be any increase in the production late. . <br />The undergroundcoal mL~in~• operation icon Iznd located appro%imately 5 miles northeast of Paonia, Colorado. T'he permit <br />area is furtherdescrbed as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 2, 3, 3, 9, 10. 11, l4, I5, and 16, Township t3 South, Range 91 West of the tith P.M. <br />The above-mentioned trouts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Delta Counry Courthouse, 5th & Palmer, <br />Delta, CO 81416, and at the Division office. For additionalinformationor to provide written comments, contact the Division <br />of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to <br />comply with regulatory time Games, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen (IS) days of this letter.
