Incidental Boundary Change
Dear Mr. Pearson:
The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph.
4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes. That on February I8, 1999, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Bowie
No.2lvtinewastxtnsideredcompleteforrhepurposesoffiling. The revision was submitted by Bowie Resources Limited. All
review and comment periods as provided in the Act and [he Regulations initiate from this date of filing.
Approval of this technical revision would allow an incidental boundary change in order to conduct development mining in
federal coal. This [echrical revision carr not be approved until Bowie Resources has secured the federal lease for the right of
entry tc that federal coal. The incidental boundary change would add 59 acres of private surface and 20 arses of federal surface
to the northwest comzr of the permit area. The entire 79 acre proposed addition is fedeml coal. There wouid not be any change
in the conventional. room and pillar mining method employed nor would there be any increase in the production late. .
The undergroundcoal mL~in~• operation icon Iznd located appro%imately 5 miles northeast of Paonia, Colorado. T'he permit
area is furtherdescrbed as follows:
Portions of Sections 2, 3, 3, 9, 10. 11, l4, I5, and 16, Township t3 South, Range 91 West of the tith P.M.
The above-mentioned trouts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie.
A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Delta Counry Courthouse, 5th & Palmer,
Delta, CO 81416, and at the Division office. For additionalinformationor to provide written comments, contact the Division

comply with regulatory time Games, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen (IS) days of this letter. If no
