MANAGEMENT
Enclosed is an application for a minor revision to provide for drilling one additional gob
vent hole and to transfer drill hole BR2-96-9 from NOI X-1996-217-01 into the Bowie
No. 2 Mine permit. The new gob vent hole is located along an existing road so only a
drill site is required. The drill hole that will be transferred into the permit has been
sealed. There is a TDR cemented in 96-9 so BRL does not want to trim the casing.
Right of Entry
The drill site is located on surface managed by the BLM. Right of entry on BLM
managed land is, subject to stipulations, authorized by Federal Coal Lease COC-
61209. Drill hole BR2-96-9 is located on BRL surface over Federal Coal.
Affected and Disturbed Area
The new drill site will disturb approximately 0.5 acres. The disturbance is within the
affected area boundary.
Cultural Resources
See Volume VI, Cultural Resources, items 3 and 11.
Access
Access to the gob vent hole will be up Stevens Draw from the mine site.
