In my prior letter of August 30, I indicated
that the gravel pit was no longer used and that it would be
appropriate to terminate the permit.
I now find that this information was in error. Some
amounts of gravel have been removed each year by Suckow Brothers
who operate a construction and excavation business with
headquarters adiacent to the Mowbray property, and either bounding
or being situate very close to the gravel pit in question.
The Suckow Brothers have been removing the crushed gravel
as well as some of the unprocessed gravel that was left over by a
prior operator. In addition they do from time to time remove
additional gravel or material from the pit area for use in the
conduct of their business. Therefore, in view of these
circumstance, on behalf of the owner, Mrs. Inza Mowbray, I wish to
correct my prior statements concerning non-use and request that the
permit be extended.
