. • ! <br />Spill monitoring equipment will be available on siite to ensure <br />monitoring in the unlikely event of spills migrating from the point <br />of occurance. Soil along the spill pathway will be monitored and <br />decontaminated or removed as necessary. If there is a potential for <br />the spill to migrate off-site, samples will be obtained immediately <br />from all downgradient existing surface and groundwater stations and <br />any additional water monitoring points deemed appropriate to monitor <br />the potential path for spill flows. The spill material twill also be <br />tested to ensure effectiveness of detoxification efforts. More <br />comprehensive spill-specific monitoring requiremenT<s will be <br />developed in conjunction with the appropriate regulatory agencies, <br />if necessary. ' <br />9.3 Sill and Emergency Action Reoortina <br />BMR will endeavor to keep all affected agencies informed about <br />any incidents that may occur. <br />Small incidental controllable spills that do not pose a human <br />health or environmental hazard shall be remedied immediately by <br />trained mine personnel. Spills or situations that represent a <br />potential threat to human health or the environment will be <br />immediately reported to all applicable agencies. Notification will <br />. depend upon the nature and extent of the spill or potential hazards <br />resulting from the spill. The decision as to who on the list is to <br />be notified shall be made by the most senior member of the project <br />staff available at the time of the spill. <br />In the event of a spill which can be completely contained <br />onsite or which does not represent a reportable quantity under 40 <br />CFR 117, the following agency will be contacted. <br />Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division - (303) 866-3567 <br />If the spill is a reportable quantity under 40 CfR 117, the <br />following agencies will be contacted: <br />-18- <br />
