<br />7.2 Oil and Coolant <br />IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, SPILL OR LEAK, THE FOLLOWING STEPS <br />ARE TO BE FOLLOWED: <br />1. Attempt to stop or contain the flow of material. <br />2. In the case of an accident, administer first aid and <br />medical treatment. , <br />3. Notify immediate supervisor or the Safety and Training <br />Supervisor. Supervisors are to report directly and <br />without delay to the Mine Superintendent or acting Duty <br />Officer. The Mine Superintendent will take further <br />corrective action. ,. <br />4. Begin clean-up activities promptly. Spilled material <br />should be pumped into approved containers. If pumping <br />is not possible, sand, dirt, or absorbent material should <br />be placed to absorb the oil or coolant. Onge absorption <br />is complete, all contaminated material should be ' <br />collected in barrels and disposed in a manner and at a <br />location specifically approved by the Mine <br />Superintendent. <br />7.3 Mill Processing Reagents <br />IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, SPILL OP LEAK, THE FO'_LO'AING STEPS <br />ARE TO BE FOLLOWED: <br />If a worker is unfamiliar with the mill process or mill <br />reagents and discovers an accident, leak or spill, hei should not <br />attempt to follow the steps below, but rather should i.m~nediately <br />notify his supervisor, the Safety and Training Supervisor or the Mill <br />Supervisor. <br />Note: All mill processing reagents are located withiin the mill <br />building except cyanide Flo-Bins. The mill building has been designed <br />for containment and collection of any spills. <br />-10- <br />
