Emergency Response Plan will be posted in numerous highly visible
locations and maintained by the Safety Department. Wbrkers will be
instructed by the Safety Department and their supervisors as to the
actions that must be taken if a spill occurs.
6.3 Worker Safety
BMR's San Luis Project is subject to the Miniing Safety and
Health Administration (MSHA) regulations and practices. MSHA requires
mining companies to comply with comprehensive laws governing he
secured health of employees and the engineering designs of buildings
associated with processing and development. In addition to MSHA
regulations and inspections, BMR will have a Safety and Training
Officer or a person of similar capac?ty that will provide safety and
training courses to employees. This position will also have
responsibility for the day to day inspection and correction of worker
performance. Prior to an employee performing his duties he will be
trained to understand safety measures. With adequate training and
knowledge of safety measures, most accidents can be a4oided.
The⢠Safety and Training Officer at the mine will conduct
training for appropriate individuals concerning safe handling, and
clean-up of and emergency medical treatment for the various materials
used at the project. New employees will be instructed upon hiring.
Pericdic refresher courses will be given. Training will be performed
throughout the life of the mining activity, as appropriate.

-8-
