Shomaker, Inc. and professional associates will conduct routine monitoring of water quality parameters at speqcified points within the drainage basin affected by the Bat~le Mountain gold mining operations. The precise parameters to b monitored will be defined by the parties involved at the onset~of the contract, and will ensure compliance with all state f Colorado and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency standards. (Project staff from John W. Shomaker, Inc. will work with the parties involved to provide technical guidance in identifyin and selecting these parameters. In order to facilitate eaningful data collection by all parties, John W. Shomaker, In and professional associates propose that: (a) Specified sampling sites be designated where a111~~ water quality samples are to be collected on a regula>'# basis. (b) Sampling conducted by all parties will be done egularly at a uniform time and date to avoid any discrepanc'es between collected samples. Sampling frequency will be efined by the parties involved at the onset of the contra t. Ensuring uniformity in the timing and frequency of sampling, and in the parameters analyzed, will eliminate any pos ible conflicts in the comparison of methodologies. (c) Collected samples will be stored in a laborator certified container, and delivered within 24 hours to an F~PA-certified laboratory for analysis of all parameters. (d) The laboratory analysis will be interpreted by ppropriate project staff to identify and describe any pote tial adverse environmental impacts which may be evident, and to describe suitable corrective measures which should be to en to mitigate these adverse impacts. (e) Copies of the laboratory analysis and interpretation of data will be delivered immediately for review and co ment by the parties involved.
