Thank you for your participation.
The entire area of Section 36 and the adjacent portion of section 35 (where the Folsom Point Digging site
is located) were inspected for cultural resources in 1977 when both Rex and Roberts Quarries were
permitted, and at ]east once since then in connection with power line location in the area. Several trails
for use by power crews, the rancher grazing cattle on the area, and for access to the Pinyon Grove cross
the area as well. We have reviewed those records (from the Colorado Historical Society and State Historic
Preservation Officer (SHPO), and as those records are available, it does not appear that additional site
inspection is required at this time. There are no identified cultural resources within the proposed area of
disturbance of the road to be constructed, and the terrain of the Folsom Point Digging and other
inventoried cultural resources in the area is significantly di6'erent from the planned route of the improved
road.
Colorado Lien Company is well aware of the importance of preserving and protecting cultural resources.
We provide training to our personnel on identifying and Taking necessary action [o preserve such
resources.
The correct ntunber for the SHPO is now 303-866-3392 or 3395.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call.
Sincerely,
NATHAN A. BARYON, PE, DEE
Environmental and Permitting Compliance Engineer
