All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the <br />Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />Approval of this permit revision would allow for the construction of a downhill conveyor, 350,000 ton maximum coal <br />stockpile, coal haul truck loading facility, a sedimentation pond and an increase in the anticipated annual coal produc[ion at <br />the Bowie No. 2 Mine from the present 2 million tons per year to 5 million [ons per year. The coal stockpile and the truck <br />loading facility would be in an azea north and immedia[ely adjacent to Old Highway 133. The new sedimentation pond, which <br />would replace the present western-mos[ pond B, would be located south and immedia[ely adjacent to Old Highway 133, <br />enlarging the permit area by 6 acres on land owned by Bowie Resources. The designed water holding capacity of the new <br />pond is 4.1 acre-Feet. The present pond B holds 2.49 acre-feet of water. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 5 miles northeas[ of Paonia, Colorado. The permit <br />area is funkier described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, and 16, Township 13 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P. M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie. <br />A copy of the revision application is available for public inspection at the Delta County Courthouse, 5th & Palmer, Delta, <br />CO 81416, and a[ the Division office.
