Mr. Phil Schmidt
March 25, 1998
Page 6
22) Please describe, in detail, any and all meetings with Bear personnel regazding mine water
storage and mine water inflows, including dates of meetings and your recollection of the
information exchanged.
23) Both the Mayo and Associates letter of February 20, 1998 and BCC agree that there is no
evidence of a heat source in the Bear Mine or Edwazds Mines. To date, BCC maintains that
there were no thermal waters encountered in the Beaz Mine. It seems unlikely that such a
water source would have been overlooked by BCC personnel. Has MCC developed any other
theories as to the heat source which is producing the observed warm water at the Bear Mine
site?
Your prompt and complete response to this letter will be appreciated so that resolution of this matter
can be accomplished. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Please call with any questions.
'c
D~ i~ rry /
~ r Environmental Protection Specialist
Attachments (3)
cc: Michael Long, DMG (w/attachments)
Susan McCannon, DMG (w/attachments)
Mike Boulay, DMG (w/attachments)
Steve Brown, AGO (wlattachments)
Kirk Meuller, ARCO (w/attachments)
M:\OSSURC\SCHIMDT.
