The first is the substitution of a 24"
HDPE pipe through the crusher yard area during the operational phase, in place of the
60" CSP proposed at this location during the reclamation phase. The 60" CSP was sized
for a watershed that coincides with final reclamation. The watershed that will exist in
this area during the operating phase is much smaller. The 24" HDPE pipe will also be
extended through the yard area to allow for yard traffic, whereas, the original layout
showed an open ditch. A redundant 24" HDPE pipe will be placed to assure adequate
capacity during pipe maintenance activities, or in the event that capacity of the single
pipe is reduced over time. The 60"CSP and open ditch will be installed, as per the
approved plan, when the operations phase is complete, and the watershed is enlarged
during final reclamation and grading.
