The proposed contsinment sreas meet the
requirements of Rule 1.05.2(3) in that (s) the drsinage will meet
effluent limitations snd (b) (i) the drsinage sres is small and is
not mixed with underground mine water discharges.
The enclosed calculation sheets show that the contsinment sreas can
adequately contain the runoff from s 10-year 21-hour storm with out
discharging. The contsinment sreas will impound sufficient volume
to retain storm runoff, sediment storage snd freeboard. The
containment pond is constructed below grade, therefore meeting all
bank stabilization needs. The total contributing watershed east of
the refuse belt is 0.51 acres snd 0.66 acres for the contsinment
sres west of the refuse belt.
The sediment and Surface Water Control Plan for the East Portal
(Msp 13) has been revised tc show the location of the two
contsinment sreas in question.
If you have any questions or need additional information do not
hesitate to contact this office.
Sincerely,
~~~
Robert J.
