Amendment to Permit #M-93-091
EXHIBIT D
Reclamation Plan
1. The overburden that will be stripped and stockpiles at
this site will be redistributed in an even and uniform
fashion. This will be redistributed at the end of mining
operations during the final reclamation.
2. The maximum gradient of reclaimed slopes will be 3:1.
The typical slope gradients for the permit boundaries
are shown on map E-3.
3. The topsoil will be redistributed to a depth average
of approximatly 6 inches. The Soil Conservation Dept.
in Burlington, CO was contacted and Fisher Sand and Gravel
was advised as to the proper plant growth medium best suited
for this type of soil.
The Conservation Department recommended seeding to be
done between November 15 and May 15, thus if any mining
concludes on or about April 1, seeding could still be
acomplished during the best time period.
It is recommended that three seed mixtures of grasses be
used at this site. The three grasses to be used will
consist of Western Wheat, Side Oats gramas and Switchgrass
Attachment 1 is a copy of the mixture and seeding plan
devised by the Soil Conservation Service in Burlington.
This indicates pounds of seed per acre and the mixture
to be used.
After the replacement of the top soil, there should be
compaction prior to the drilling of the seed. The drill
will plant the seed at a depth of a to 'i inch. After
seeding, a hay or straw mulch of approximately 2000 to
4000 pounds an acre will be applied.
There will be no establishment of shrubs or trees at
this site.
4
The access road will be graded and reclamed the same
as the rest of the pit.
