The primary points rdaeed to the analytical and
geotechnical design include:
Cuts and Fills -the proposed curs and Fills associated with proposed B Extension ace no greater than
those constructed for the existing haul toads. The existing haul roads and pit ramps have been used
For over two years with no operational oc stability problems.
Erosion -the steeper sections of the proposed B Extension will be susceptible to erosion, however it
is proposed to install additional culverts and check dams ro reduce peak flows. The additional
conuols along with continuous toad and ditch maintenance will significantly reduce erosion and
sediment levels.
Iendslide/Unstable Areas - SCC has investigated the areas of concern and have concluded that the
`landslides" are indeed autfidal and consist of primarily topsoil material. Once the topsoil is removed
the unstable condition is eliminated.
See also response ro Comment 9.
Senesce Coal Company • P.O.
