Walther <br />Executive Director <br />Ronald w. Cattany <br />Aging Division Director <br />Sunland Mining Corporation has applied for a bond release at the Apex No. 2 Mine. The Division <br />found the bond release application complete on October 16, 2002. The permittee is requesting Phase II <br />and III bond release on all of the approximate 228-acre pemut azea, with the exception of <br />approximately one-quarter acre for which only Phase I release is being requested. The total disturbed <br />area within all of the bond release pazcels is approximately 4 acres. This disturbed azea is comprised of <br />the former portal azea, the former office azea, and the former facilities yard. Surface ownership is <br />private and the coal mined was federal. The bond release request is for $58,808 of the total $68,808 of <br />reclamation bond. <br />The Division has scheduled a bond release inspection for 11:00 a.m. on October 24, 2002.
