Lochhead <br />Executive Director <br />Michael B. Long <br />Division Direc~ar <br />The Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Company has applied for a bond release at its Edna <br />Mine. The request was deemed complete by this Division on September 12, 1996. The <br />release request is for Phase I release of approximately 607,5 acres of lands located within the <br />West Ridge and Center Ridge mining areas. Reclamation work includes backfilling and <br />grading of the final pit and spoil ridges, and drainage reestablishment. The amount requested <br />for release is $821,613.00. The surface ownership is federal and private, and the coal mined <br />was federally owned. <br />We will contact you to advise you of the Division's required bond release inspection of the site <br />as soon as it has been scheduled.
