This is required to allow for increased pillar stability resulting in
decreased sloughage of them. The stability issue arises from the fact that original orientation of these
mains was parallel to the coal cleat, which results in the increased sloughage. The new orientation will
have the mains driven at an angle to the cleat, which provides for better pillar stability.
Due [o the reorientation additional coal will be mined from federal lease CO-54608. Attached Table 6C
provides the reserve calculations for the coal to be mined from the lease. Along with this is the
corresponding decrease in tons mined from the adjacent fee coal.
The final component of this revision addresses widening of the pillars in the southern most entry of the
initial 1000 feet of the 11 Right gateroad. There will be no additional entries driven, just a wider pillar at
the western end of the l l Right gateroad.
If there are questions, please contact meat you convenience.
Sincerely,
~!a~CGCC+~ ~~~
Richard Mills
Environmental Manager
attachments
file: 1:4evision~ninor-rv4rn0016'Mu00168c1.doc
29515 ROUTT COUNTY ROAD #27, OAK CREEK, CO 60467 Phone: (970) 879-3800 Fax: (970) 679-8050
