• III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII`~~!
999
RF~FIVED
NOV 2 2 1995
TO: Division of Minerals and Geology
FROM: Don Richardson Sr,
Divioion of M~narals & Ge010gy
Re: The conversion of the X74 Pit, Permit No, M-87-O?O from a
110 0) Limited Impact Reclamation operation to a 112 Regular
reclamation operation
Dear Sirs.
I,m voicing my concern of this proposed permitting because of the
fact that if you look at its location you will see it is located
right in the middle of a Residentuale are, and the dust from the
crushing operations and the noise should not be allowed to
continue.
The pit has been extended to the point that it is almost in my
back vard. There is also the fact that mast of the time the water
level in the pits is high enough that the machinery is actually
wor{:ing in the water and this effects our drinking water because
we are on a well system.
In the past the operators of the crushing system have been
told to keep the dust down but they continue to ignore this
regest. I have also in the past notified the county commissioner
office and nothing gets done. This might have something to do
with the fact the one of the commissioners owns the land that is
being used far the gravel pit, now I ask you does this seem quit
right I dont think so.
There are several of my neighbors who strongly object to this
pit right in our back doors, that is the reason we moved out in
the country so we wouldnt have to put up with the noise. When we
moved here this area was zoned as a residentuale area and there
was never any one notified of a gravel pit being put in , one day
there it was to every ones surprise.
So I dont want to see this pit made into a permanant eye
sore, I would like to see it removed and everything put back to
as close to normal as it can be, there are plenty of other
locations that are away from where people are tying to live this
isnt the place for a gravel pit.
Thank You very mucc
r+?
