I had been under the impression that these
holes had been permanently abandoned. I found casing emerging from the ground
for three of the holes, and a lot of discarded casing at another hole.
Question 3 of the Mid-Term Review requested Kaiser to ascertain the extent of
the outstanding reclamation obligations associated with drilling for use in
the bond calculations and to achieve compliance with Stipulation 17. Given
the results of the brief field inspection, I think that it is appropriate to
inspect the status of all of the drill holes out at the site.
I plan to perform my March inspections during the week of March 15, 1993. It
would be beneficial if you could accompany me on this inspection to provide
some historical and operational perspective. Please let me know about your
availability at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,
(~a~a.,Le. GtJ ~ ~
Catherine W.
