GENERAL PLANTING NOTES:
All areas disturbed by channel construction activities will be seeded upon
completion of work. The wetland herbaceous mix shall be used in the relocated
Bull Seep channel bottom and along the lower portion of the side slopes where
wetland species are appropriate. The remainder of the side slopes and other
appropriate areas will be seeded with the native grass mix. Final seed species
composition may vary at the time of implementation. Native grasses planted
around the lakes on the banks and edges are as per the reclomation plan.
It is anticipated that seed will be broadcast at a rate of 15 Ibs/acre. The seeding
rate will be cut in half if a seed drill is used. Seed mix species percentages will be
determined prior to installation.
3. The relocated Bull Seep will be field adjusted to minimize disturbance to existing
cottonwoods and other vegetation.
4. Wetland plant material (List C at right) shall be installed equal to approximately one
plant four feet on center. Material will be installed in a random fashion to create a
natural appearance rather than strictly one plant four feet on center.
5. Shrubs (List B at right) shall be established using either seed and/or live stock.
Final species lists will at least include the listed species and may include additional
species.
6. Special Condition K of DA Permit Number 199380590, Amendment 1 requires
planting of cottonwood trees. Cottonwoods required by Special Condition K shall
satisfy tree planting requirements (List A at right). Final tree locations will be
determined in the field.
7. Portions of the existing Bull Seep not to be disturbed will not receive additional
plant materials. The Plant Material List refers only to those portions of the Bull
Seep that are to be modified from existing vegetated condition.
If plant material is collected from on-site sources (Live Stakes/Plugs). it shall be
planted within 48 hours of collection. Plant material sholl be collected during the
dormant period if possible. If on-site sources are not available or appropriate, live
plants will be obtained from a reputable supplier.
9 Channel side slopes along the relocated Bull Seep will vary and will be field
adjusted as appropriate.
10. Live stock or stakes and seed species may need to be adjusted in the fi,ld at the
time of implementation to reflect species composition of on-site sources, wetland
conditions, or supplier availability.
