Howe Pit -Bull Seep, Corps Permit 199380590 Page 1 of 1
Jeff Schwarz
From: Franklin, J Scott NWO [J.Scott.Franklin@nwo02.usace.army.milj
Sent: Tuesday, June 18, 2002 2:19 PM
To: 'Jeff Schwarz'
Cc: Carey, Timothy T NWO
Subject: Howe Pit -Bull Seep, Corps Permit 199380590
Jeff -- Thanks for catching the inconsistencies on Sheet 7. The acceptable changes are shown on the attached file.
(Explanation of Note 4) Wetland plants can be planted on 4-foot centers (I plant per 16 sq ft). However, the plants
should be plugs or live stock, not seeds, since they will be surrounded by the seeded wetland herbaceous mix as indicaten
in Note 1. ,___)
Explanation girlGote 5) Shrubs can be planted on 4-foot centers (1 plant per 16 sq fr). However, the shrubs should be
stakes or plugs or live stock, not seeds.
- -'
When the changes aze made to Sheet 7 and an revised acceptable 11x14-inch copy is reed at our office, I will make a
note of the revised Sheet 7 in Special Condition I of Amendment 1 of Permit 199380590.
Spoke with Mark Pedrucci (303-637-8014) of Adams County yesterday. He says the tree plantings are looking good. He
was concerned, however, that the existing trees on the south and southwest side of the project appeaz to be drying up and
dying. I seem to remember that some irrigation of the existing trees was promised, since hydrology may have been
affected. Please call Mark to get the details on these existing trees, since Special Condition K of Amendment 1 addresses
trees impacted by the project.
Thanks, Jeff. Call if you need to discuss the Sheet 7 changes or other issues. -- Scott
...and now back to Lyons.
6/18/02
