3.0 NEWSPAPER ADVERTISEMENT
The following newspaper advertisement for this Phase I Bond Release Application will be
' published in the Steamboat Pilot, Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
H-G Coal Company (HGCC), has filed with the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
' (Division) a Phase I Bond Release Application for its Hayden Gulch Mine, Permit No. C-80-003
under provtstons of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979 (Act). The
Hayden Gulch Mine permit was approved as a permit renewal January 4, 1992. The purpose of
the bond release application is to:
• Request Phase [Bond Release for 42 acres of the Hayden Gulch mine site. The
Hayden Gulch mine currently has a to[al amount of bond liability for the area
requested of $163,622. The portion being sought for release through this
application is $98,173. Reclamation of the 42 acres occurred in 1987 with the
' removal of mine support surface facilities, backfilling, regrading, topsoil
placement, reestablishment of drainage, sediment control, and revegetauon. Phase
I bond liability covers backfilling and grading. Reclamation efforts have achieved
' the required Phase I release criteria as defined by the approved reclamation plan.
The legal description of the mine is as follows: Sections 30 and 31, Township 5 North, Range 88
' West of the 6th P.M. in Routt County, Colorado. The mine site is located approximately nine
miles south of Hayden, Colorado, along Routt County Road 53. USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle
map, Hayden Gulch, Colorado, contains the described azea of the reclaimed mine. A copy of the
permit revision application is available for public inspection at the Routt County Courthouse,
located at 522 Lincoln Ave., Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

' regazding the proposed surface coal mining operation, or the officer or head of any Federal, State
