July 1996 H-G Coal Company • Farilities A.ea Phase I Bond Release Application 1 9 <br />3.0 NEWSPAPER ADVERTISEMENT <br />The following newspaper advertisement for this Phase I Bond Release Application will be <br />' published in the Steamboat Pilot, Steamboat Springs, Colorado. <br />H-G Coal Company (HGCC), has filed with the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology <br />' (Division) a Phase I Bond Release Application for its Hayden Gulch Mine, Permit No. C-80-003 <br />under provtstons of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979 (Act). The <br />Hayden Gulch Mine permit was approved as a permit renewal January 4, 1992. The purpose of <br />the bond release application is to: <br />• Request Phase [Bond Release for 42 acres of the Hayden Gulch mine site. The <br />Hayden Gulch mine currently has a to[al amount of bond liability for the area <br />requested of $163,622. The portion being sought for release through this <br />application is $98,173. Reclamation of the 42 acres occurred in 1987 with the <br />' removal of mine support surface facilities, backfilling, regrading, topsoil <br />placement, reestablishment of drainage, sediment control, and revegetauon. Phase <br />I bond liability covers backfilling and grading. Reclamation efforts have achieved <br />' the required Phase I release criteria as defined by the approved reclamation plan. <br />The legal description of the mine is as follows: Sections 30 and 31, Township 5 North, Range 88 <br />' West of the 6th P.M. in Routt County, Colorado. The mine site is located approximately nine <br />miles south of Hayden, Colorado, along Routt County Road 53. USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle <br />map, Hayden Gulch, Colorado, contains the described azea of the reclaimed mine.
