<br />~~ <br />Grading is done in a manner which eliminates highwalls, reduces slopes to a maximum of <br />2H:1V, and controls erosion and sedimentation both on and off the site. Backfilling and <br />grading will be completed as soon as feasible after the gravel has been removed. <br />Additional drillholes are not proposed at Mesa Gravel Pit. Previously drilled holes have <br />been sealed according to DMG regulations. <br />Postmining Topography. Reclaimed areas are graded to approximate the general <br />configuration of the area as it existed prior to mining with some minor modifications to <br />drainage patterns. The area will be returned to agricultural use after mining, therefore, <br />the area will be graded so that it can be traversed by farm machinery. A conservative 12 <br />percent swell factor was used to determine the postmining topography.
