r~o
To: Mike Long
From: Sandy Brown
Date: July 26, 1993
RE: Recommendation to Vacate NOV C-93-064
New Elk Mine
Permit No. C-81-012
As a result of an assessment conference on July 22, 1993, I am
recommending that NOV C-93-064 be vacated.
Tony Waldron issued this NOV on April 16, 1993 for "Failure to
submit additional information after permit approval as required
by stipulation 29 to the original permit and subsequent renewal.
Specifically, a plan addressing reclamation of roads after the
completion of mining should be incorporated into the permit."
During his inspection of the permit on his inspection, he was
unable to find the required information.
In the assessment conference, Ron Thompson provided the
information. It was found in a stipulation cross reference.
Stipulation 29 is addressed by Section 2.05.3. (Page 2.05-49) of
the permit. Pages 2.05-49-50 describe reclamation methods. Page
50 specifically discussed timing and reclamation practices to be
followed in reclamation of roads.
Mr. Waldron concurred that the information presented by Mr.
Thompson satisfied Stipulation 29. Although, he did not find it
in the permit at the mine site, he might have been looking in the
wrong section.
