Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trus[ee
Listed below aze adequacy review comments on the Gold Basin Mine Amendment
Application (AM-Ol), Permit No. M-1992-045. The Division of Minerals and Geology
(Division) is required to make an approval or denial decision no later than January 11,
2005, therefore, your response to the following adequacy review concerns should be
submitted to the Division as soon as possible.
1. As required by Rule 1.6.2 (1)(g), please submit the proof of publication of the
public notice circulated in the Local newspaper to the Division office.
2. I have enclosed four copies of the maps made from the Global Positioning System
(GPS) data obtained by the Division on September 23, 2005 during an inspection.
The points obtained on that day are from stakes located by the operator to
delineate the permit boundaries for the presently permitted 3.0 acres and the
operator's proposed permit boundaries for the amendment that is now being
considered. Two copies of this map have the acreages written out for each azea.
Two copies are blank. Please note that the azea with 3.06 acres is the presently
permitted azea. Please also note that all the areas, when combined, would total
11.51 acres. Therefore, please indicate on the map which azeas will be retained
and which azea or azeas will be adjusted so that the resulting permit area will total
9.9 acres and no more. Please send us an original of the modified map. As an
alternative, the operator may choose to draw their own map that delineates a
permit azea that is 9.9 acres or less. Please sign and date all maps you choose to
use.
3. The applicant, in a letter received by the Division on November 21, 2005,
committed to not mining any of the newly permitted 6.9 acres. It should be noted
that the azea outlined on the map enclosed with this letter has a central part of that
map, a 3.06 acre area, that the applicant will be mining within. Is it the operator's
intention that azeas outside of the 3.06 acre azea the azeas that the no mining
statement refers to? Please confirm this.
Office of
Artive and Inartive Mines
Colorado
Geoloeical Survev
