ASPHALT
SPECIALTIES CO.
7321 East 88th Ave. Henderson, CO 80640 (303) 289-8555 Fax: (303) 289-7707
ASPHALT SPECIALTIES CO. MEMO
TO: Berhan Keffelew ivision of Minerals and Geology
FROM: Rob Lair~~
DATE: 12-31-03
RE: Proof of Publication and Final Neighbor Notification-Speer Mining Resource
M83-176, AM-3
CC: File
Berhan:
Please see following. This will conclude the "proof of publication" for the four
consecutive weeks for the referenced amendment.
The final two neighbor notifications were undeliverable. You can see that the Post Office
tried hand-delivering or notification that there was certified mail to be picked up three
times.
Rivera's are the "castle builders" just to the north of the amendment area and are in favor
of the mining as I have explained to you. They obviously just don't want to receive
certified mail. Alex Muniz lives across the road from the Speer operation and has no
problem with our operation. He has signed off on a 200 ft. man-made structure
agreement either this year or last year. I think it was in 2002. He used to drive a gravel
truck and is a pretty good guy. He obviously just doesn't want to receive certified mail
either.
I think we are all set from this end. O[her than the bonding issue we spoke about when
you made your field visit, I know of no other issues that should be of a negative nature
for this amendment. Please forward your adequacy review when it is completed. I will
talk to you next week, I suppose.
Have a good new year!
