TRAPPER MINING iNC.
October 20, 2003
Ms. Janet Binns
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Minerals & Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
RECEIVED
OCT 2 ~ P003
Deaz Ms. Binns:
Division of Minerals & Geology
Re: Trapper Mining Inc., Permit No. C-81-010
Phase III Bond Release Application (SL-4)
Response to DMG/OSM Field Inspection of July 4, 2003
To resolve the issues presented in your July 24, 2003 letter, Trapper offers the following
information:
1) Removal of powerlines. Part b) discusses the powerline extending from north D-Pit to
the F-Pit substation. This powerline is required to remain in service for the foreseeable
future. Map 1 removes an access corridor from the Phase III Bond Release azea along the
route of the powerline. This will allow Trapper to continue use of this powerline until it
is no longer required and can be removed. This corridor will be included in a future bond
release filing upon successful removal of the line.
2) Monitoring wells GD-2, GD-3, GF-5, GF-6 and GF-11 are within the Phase III azea.
Monitoring well GF-7 is outside the area. Please see the locations of these monitoring
wells on Map 1. Wells GD-2, GD-3, GD-5, GD-6 and GD-11 aze designated as utility
waste monitoring wells and are now excluded from the Phase III application.
3) The area identified in this section has been removed. Please refer to Map 1.
4) Topsoil piles E87-12, E93-4 and E78-1 aze not included in this Phase III Bond Release
application.
