AyPertdu A - VeRemriort Samy(inR (or 1998
vegetative cover, thus meeting the perennial warm-season grass diversity requirement. Russian
_ wild-rye, slender wheatgrass, smooth brome, western wheatgrass, and green needlegrass fall
^ within the cool-season perennial grass diversity requirement.
Of the four perennial forb species sampled on the disturbed area in June and September, only
alfalfa exhibits a relative cover of greater than 3.0 percent. This is consistent with the reference
~ area data in which only one perennial forb, cicer milkvetch, was sampled with an abundance
- greater than 3.0 percent. Since forb species diversity is an arbitrary standard, Kaiser requests the
~ use of comparison to the reference area for the determination of forb diversity success.
f SAMPLING PROGRAM FOR 1999
' Vegetation sampling will be conducted during 1999 for completion of year ten data. Sampling will
be conducted consistent with the methods presented herein. Sampling will be conducted during
mid-July to identify both cool and watYtt-season species that are required to be present on the
reclaimed area.
Bond057 1999-0Sl.wpd\February 26, 1999 f~-1 Q
