30. In conformance with Rule 3.1.10(6), please provide a weed control plan that includes weed <br />control strategies for tamarix, and any thistle or knapweed species present at the site. <br />Tamarisk will be wrapped in chains and pulled to extract roots, or will be treated with an <br />approved herbicide. Herbicide will also be applied to knapweed and thistle, and treated areas <br />broadcast with the approved seed mixture to advance competition from preferred species. <br />6.4.12 Exhibit L -Reclamation Costa <br />31. In conformance with Rule 6.4.12(1), please provide itemized demolition costs for removal of <br />all buildings, wncrete foundations, paved surfaces, fuel tanks, and non-roadable mining <br />equipment as specified in Item 2 above. <br />i Please refer to the previous answers for parts 2 and 12 above. Structures will endure subsequent <br />to the DMG permitted activities. <br />32. In conformance with Rule 6.4.12(1), please clarify whether VCI intends to be bonded for <br />reclamation of all current disturbance plus all future or planned disturbances, or whether VCI <br />intends to be bonded for reclamation of a specified maximum disturbance at anyone time. <br />The site is at maximum disturbance and will diminish in liability, as indicated in Exhibit L - <br />Financial Warranty Determinations. As the site diminishes in liability, we will request release <br />based upon completion of reclamation within a given phase. Exhibit L -Reclamation Costs <br />provides for the conservative costs for reclamation of the property under maximum disturbance, <br />as indicated for the Areas detailed under Exhibit L -Reclamation Costs, and under Exhibit C - <br />Pre-mining and Mining Plan Map. <br />33. The applicant specifies 67.89 total acres to be revegetated, 1.11 acres of shoreline to <br />revegetate, and 80.2d acres of Dry Land Mix to be applied. Please clarify the acreage of <br />shoreline to be revegetated, and the acreage of surrounding uplands to be revegetated. <br />The acres of shoreline and lands to be vegetated above water line is detailed under pages 12 - 13 <br />of Exhibit L -Establishment of Vegetation over Affected Lands. The 67.891 total acres to be <br />revegetated appears to be in error. 80.241 acres should be applied x $112.281= $9009.351 total <br />re-vegetation cost using the Dry Land Mix. The difference from the error ($8,252.711) = an <br />increase to the total financial warranty estimate of $756.641. <br />34. Please clarify the push or haul distance for the 20,427 cubic yards of stockpiled concrete <br />rubble to he backftlled during final reclamation. <br />Page 14 of Exhibit L -Other Miscellaneous Costs, details the use of the recycled concrete <br />stockpile if it is not actually recycled at the time of a potential default, including the push distance <br />of 150 feet and related cost to effect the same. <br />6.4.13 EXIIIBTI' M-Other Permits and Lice~es <br />Varra Companies, Inc.
