BoX 310 <br />San Luis, CO 81152-0310 <br />RE: Third party monitoring; Battle Mountain Gold Company; San Luis <br />Project; M-88-112 <br />Dear Mr. Kluksdahl: <br />With this letter, the Division of Minerals and Geology is,releasing the <br />report entitled, "Summary Report: Third-party Monitoring of Battle <br />Mountain Resource Inc.'s San Luis Gold Mine, March 4-5, 1992." This <br />report was prepared by Dr. Ann Maest, RCG/Hagler, Bailly~ Inc. for the <br />DMG and Battle Mountain Resources, Inc. under order from he Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board. In addition, the Division approve for payment <br />itemized expenses for March, April and May 1993 for the econd, third, <br />and fourth sampling trips, and for expenses incurred i writing the <br />Summary Report for the second monitoring trip. <br />The Summary Report, dated June 14, 1993, includes a summary and <br />assessment of third party sampling activities conducted a~ the San Luis <br />Mine in March 1993, a summary and assessment of analytical activities <br />conducted by an independent analytical laboratory, sand contains <br />recommendations for future sampling. <br />Interested parties reading this report should be aware of several <br />items. The analytical time exceeded that prescribed in t1~e MOU but did <br />not exceed holding times. Recommendations for changes in the sampling <br />and analysis plan are addressed later in this letter and are not <br />considered binding to BMG. The sampling protocol followgd during this <br />sampling differs from the original owing to changes madegfollowing the <br />first sampling event. <br />The Division requests that BMG please distribute copies of the report <br />for public examination. <br />
