•
PETITION
1VE, the undersigned, all being property owners and/or residents of Douglas County,
Colorado, present this Petition to the Board of County Commissioners, Douglas County,
Colorado, and respectfully seek the termination by Robinson Brick Company of the use of
their land for open pit surface mining through enforcement of §rJ and §~B of the Douglas
County, Colorado Zoning and Subdivision Resolutions effective October 6, rg8o, and/or
through §5Cz of the Douglas County Zoning Resolution November rs, rg8z, and demand that
such enforcement action commence immediately for the health, safety, convenience,
aesthetics and welfare of the property owners and residents of Douglas County. Permitting
the continued use of the land by Robinson Brick Company for open pit surface mining
operations is contrary to the spirit and letter of the Douglas County Colorado Zoning and
Subdivision Resolutions of October 6, rg8o, and the Douglas County Zoning Resolution of
November rs, rg8z, and constitutes a use contrary to the District's Zoning category, and is
resulting in the destruction of the beauty of the hogback as it is situated along the red rock
outcroppings at Roxborough Park, and the decrease in property values in the surrounding area.
Petitioners accordingly request that the Board of County Commissioners direct the
Douglas County Planning Director and the Douglas County Attorney to immediately enforce
its zoning resolutions and to initiate, if necessary, legal action to remove such unlawful use.
Si¢nature of Property Owner/Resident Address
