• groundwater in the pit backfill, and could not be characteristic of seep water that may have escaped into <br />the Rito Seco, if such has indeed happened. <br />[t is emphasized that because the sample contains sediment (as much as 11 grams of sediment per liter of <br />solution is present in the sample), several metals appear in concentrations significantly in excess of water <br />quality standards, but the overwhelming contribution of metal to the analysis is from the sediment, not <br />from dissolved metals in the water.
