The mine is operated by the New
Castle Energy Corporation.
We request this action because of the conditions and practices
described below which we believe have resulted in violations, We
haue listed the requirements of the Colorado rules believed to
apply.
p, pw»Q ~ 1.~New Castle Energy Corporation disturbed land by building and
~ P.p~1~~ removing the pump house and a section of th~g water supply
s..lyd.a_. pipeline outside the approved permit area. Nor were the costs of reclamation and removal calculated
in the existing performance bond. Locating the pipeline in this manner reduces the ability of the
culvert to convey the amount of water it was sized for and
presents a risk of catching debris, thus further reducing the
effective capacity of the culvert or blocking it.. The culvert is
off the permit area and appears to be part of the county road.
m Failing to minimize disturbances to the hydrologic balance and
CJ
soo tcc~•ora o~d, aawso iasn Qc~:ao ~76iEZiTi
