Dear Ms. Smith:
Enclosed herewith please find the following information submitted
in response to the Divisions letter of review, dated October 15,
1993:
1) A portion of revised Section 2.05.4, "Reclamation Plan"
of the Permit Application, including a spoil pile cross-
section with hydraulic calculations for run-off from the
pile. (Please note that the remainder of the Section is in
the revision process and will be submitted at a later date).
2) Subdrain System - After placing the toe dike for the
spoil pile a 12 inch thick gravel blanket was placed under
the entire area for deposition of spoil. The subgrade was
sloped to drain to a 6 inch perforated PVC pipe. The gravel
blanket (drain) covered approximately 600 square yards. The
gravel was covered with a straw blanket to prevent intrusion
of soil. The gravel was placed in 1985 and so certified to
be in accordance with the Permit Application.
3.) Upper Power Line Road - Recent discussion with personnel
in the Division's In Active Mines Program indicated that
this work would be completed under the program.
In earlier correspondence Twin Pines had indicated a desire to
complete the reclamation of the spoil pile prior to the 1993
Winter season. This work has now been re-scheduled to the Spring
of 1994. If there are any questions or additional information
required, please advise.
