This mix is based on recommendations made by U.S.F.W.S. for
use on the site. To supplement this planting we will now add a
mulch cover of 2 tons of certified weed free native hay or straw
per acre, crimped in. Instead of using the chemical fertilizers
originally proposed we will use mycorrhizal inoculant or certified
weed free organic soil amendments in its place. Internet research
indicated that 1 lb. of the inoculant should be mixed with the
amount of seed needed for 1 acre and applied with the seed. Cost
is approximately $25.00 per lb. that makes it equivalent in cost to
normal chemical fertilizer costs.
Soeciea Lba./ac. Hydrology
At this time we do not plan to expose groundwater on this mine.
Research of groundwater wells show the water elevation on the site
averages 50 feet below the surface. This suggests that the water
table slopes west to east across the site. The site its self has a
40 foot elevation in the same direction. Knowing that water eleva-
