We propose that the Division proceed with the permit review
and should the need arise, simply provide a stipulation to the
Colowyo permit that particular operations specific to these BLM
lands not proceed until the necessary BLM approvals have been
issued. This procedure will avoid needless delays in the review of
the Colowyo permit application, while providing that the BLM
concerns are resolved prior to the entry onto these lands. We
understand that the BLM is sending another letter to you indicating
that they do not have a problem with simultaneous review.
Colorado Historical Society
I contacted Mr. Jim Green of the Colorado Historical Society
on July 23, 1991, regarding the Society's letter of June 28, 1991.
The results of the discussion can be summarized as follows:
The society does not have a copy of the 1984 Nickens report on
a portion of the Colowyo expansion area. We will forward a
copy of the report to them for their records.
In the interim, I informed Mr. Green that the Permit Revision
application contains the pertinent sections of the 1984
Nickens report available for his review.
Regarding the HG Permit Renewal C-80-003, there appeared to be
some confusion as to our intentions. I clarified that the
permit renewal was for a permit under final reclamation and
not for new lands, therefore, no further surveys would be
necessary. Mr. Green agreed.
If you have any questions regarding these matters, please
contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
~~ ~ ~-~
J mes A. Kiger
/ r.
