BOX 670 <br />Hayden, CO 81639 <br />RE: Seneca IIW Mine (Permit No. C-1982-057) <br />Stipulation Resolution <br />Permit Revision Application No. 3 (PR-31 <br />Dear Mr. Shevling: <br />Stipulation No. 30, which was attached to the PR-3 approval decision required specific <br />demonstrations regarding soil classification to document the acceptability of soil strength <br />parameters used in the stability analysis for the Pond 016A embankment. The <br />documentation was required to be provided to DMG prior to placement of construction <br />materials for the Pond 016A dam embankment. <br />The specified information was submitted in a letter of June 20, 2003, from Jay James of <br />Montgomery Watson Harza (MWH). The Division reviewed a faxed copy of the letter on <br />June 20. Based on our review on that date, the response was determined to be adequate <br />to satisfy the requirements of the stipulation.
