In a report Mr. Doak issued'Apr. 18, 2005, he wrote, "Regardless o~£ the new slope of the reclamation azea, an increase of erosion will occur especially on the south side, which could erode into the cemetery possibly exposing shallow graves °' Pictures of the dramatic removal of this overburden, and .the resulting mounds at the southern boundary of the Castillo Pit . are attached to this complaint as Attachments E and F. CEMETERY BOUNDARIES DISREGARDED BY COUNTY VEHICLES .,. , n a showing'in a complete disregard for the Penitente Cemetery, within the past Itwo months one of the single-strand barb wire feces has been pulled to the ground, where county vehicles have driven directly across the face of the cemetery, from the southeasternmost quadrant, north and west to another fence line, where the northernmost fence has been cut, and the vehicles have, started to wear another road down an'embankment to a dirt county road to the west. While neither Mr. Espinoza nor I have observed the vehicles driving across the cemetery, it is highly unlikely that a private passenger caz or truck could negotiate the steep embanlanent to the ' north and~.west, and the fire tracks left in the cemetery aze obviously from lazge ' wheels with pronounced, off-road type'ridges in the tires. Please see Attachments G, H and I. ~ _ .Of particular concern in the immediate vacancy of these fire ruts, is that it is likely that the vehicles have driven duectly across varies grave sites.
