SPECIFICATION C <br />PIPING <br />1 SCOPE <br />The work covered by this specification consists of furnishing materials and <br />performing all operations required for the installation of the piping as shown on the <br />Drawings and subject to the terms of the Contract. <br />2 GENERAL <br />2.1 All piping shall be constructed at the locations indicated on the Drawings or <br />at such alternative locations dictated by field conditions and acceptable to <br />the Engineer. <br />2.2 All materials shall be installed in strict accordance with the manufacturer's <br />recommendations, as applicable, or the applicable standard. <br />2.3 Product information submittals to the Engineer shall be required for any <br />material item that is supplied by the Contractor as an "or equal" to the <br />material specification on the Drawings or specified herein, and items for <br />which a specific manufacturer and model have not been specified. The <br />Engineer will have the authority to reject any proposed substitution without <br />justification. <br />2.4 The Contractor shall furnish the Owner/Engineer with a copy of all product <br />installation, operation, and maintenance documentation provided to the <br />Contractor by the manufacturer. <br />2.5 All pipe and fittings shall be designed, constructed, and installed in <br />accordance with the best practices and methods and shall comply with these <br />specifications as applicable. <br />3 APPLICABLE STANDARDS <br />3.1 AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR TESTING AND MATERIALS (ASTM- <br />ASTM A 53 - Specification for Pipe Steel, Black and Hot-dipped, Zinc- <br />coated, Welded and Seamless. <br />ASTM A 181 - Specification for Forging, Carbon Steel for General Purpose <br />Piping. <br />SPEC.
