Article 33, Sec[ion 116, <br />Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on July 7, 1998, an application to revise coal mining operations <br />at the Bowie No. 2 Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Bowie <br />Resources Limited. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this <br />date of filing. <br />This revision proposes to add L58 acres to the permit area of a valid and existing permit and to change the mine <br />plan to include federal coal. The surface and subsurface of the additional acreage are owned by Bowie Resources <br />and by the Bureau of Land Management. The proposed additions are located in Sections 2, 4 and 1 l of Township <br />13 South, Range 9l West, located in the Terror Creek and Hubbard Creek drainages. This revision can not be <br />approved until the federal coal lease has been secured by Bowie Resources. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 5 miles northeast of Paonia, Colorado. <br />The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 14, I5, and 16, Township l3 South, Range 90 West of the 6th P. M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at [he Delta County Courthouse, 5th <br />& Palmer, Delta, CO 81416, and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide written <br />comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that <br />comments be submitted within fifteen (IS) days of this letter.
