<br />(6) Leak Detection System Effluent Containment: <br />Status: No change from August report <br />Satisfied -BMG committed to repair the primary liner if a leak is <br />detected. No leak has been detected in the secondary clay liner. <br />(6) Cyanide Detection, Interception, Containment and Remedial Treatment: <br />Status: - BMG installed two additional monitoring wells. <br />- DMG commented on adequacy of TR-008 and the additignal <br />monitoring wells. <br />- BMG submitted on October 16, 1992 responses to DMG adequacy <br />review. <br />- DMG is reviewing the response to determine if more monitoring wells <br />are needed. <br />- BMG submitted on October 16, 1992 responses to the Dlivision's <br />adequacy review of TR-009 "Tailings Effluent Leakage Interception, <br />Containment and Treatment Plan". <br />- DMG is reviewing BMG's responses. <br />17) Modification of Ore Processing Methodology: <br />Status: No change from August report. <br />BMG submitted a written commitment to comoly in a letger of April <br />16, 1992. BMG committed to the completion of the requested <br />investigation, the development of an appropriate detoxification <br />procedure, and the submission of a summary report. <br />(8) Modification of Tailings Area Reclamation Plan <br />Status: No change from August Report. <br />BMG has demonstrated that 180 days will be required to complete <br />the requested evaluation, after detoxification. <br />Note: Staff prepared a briefing memorandum addressing the qu'pstion of <br />long-term tailings detoxification at the request of the Boaird. <br />19) Modification of Environmental Monitoring Plan: <br />Status: BMG submitted a written commitment to comoly in a lever of April <br />16, 1992 BMG committed to a revised monitoring program. <br />DMG approved with conditions BMG's TR-006 "Quality <br />Assurance/Quality Control Protocols for the Collection of surface and <br />Groundwater Quality Data" on September 10, 1992 whidh addressed <br />Abatement Requirement 12. <br />2 <br />
