<br />Dear Mr. Fife:
<br />Pursuant to Title 33, Article 34, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes,
<br />the Mined Land Reclamation Division hereby issues notice that on April 11, 1988, an
<br />application for renewal of a valid, existing permit to conduct coal mining
<br />operations, Permit No. C-81-022, by U S Steel Mining Co, 600 Grant St Rm 1814,
<br />Pittsburg, PA 15230, was deemed complete for the purposes of filing. The
<br />application was submitted on behalf of U. S. Steel Mining Co., and the mine is
<br />operated by Kaiser Coal Corp.; 102 South Tejon; Colorado Springs, CO 80901. A11
<br />reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act and Regulations promulgated
<br />thereunder initiate from this day of filing.
<br />The mine is currently in temporary cessation. The mine facilities and underground
<br />workings are located in portions of the following:
<br />Sec. 31, T125, R90W
<br />Secs. 5-9, 17, 713S, R90W
<br />Secs. 34-36, T12S, P.91W
<br />Secs. 1-3, 11-13, T13S, R91W, all of the 6th P.M.
<br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of
<br />Somerset and Bowie. A copy of the application is available for public inspection
<br />at the Delta County Courthouse, 5th & Palmer, Delta, CO. Written comments,
<br />objections or requests for an informal conference on the application may be
<br />submitted to, and additional information obtained from, the Mined Land Reclamation
<br />Division, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567,
<br />Written comments, objections or requests for an informal conference must be filed
<br />at the Division by 5:00 p. m., within thirty days after the last public notice in
<br />the local newspaper,
