Box 2679 <br />Colorado Springs, CO 80901-2679 <br />Re: Somerset Mine Permit Renewal, Permit No. C-81-022 <br />Dear Mr, Balaz: <br />We have received your application for renewal of a valid, existing permit to <br />conduct coal mining in Colorado. Our initial review indicates that all preliminary <br />items required by the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, C.R.S. <br />34-33-101 et seq. have been submitted. Thus, your application has been deemed <br />complete for tie purposes of filing on this date, All review and comment periods <br />as provided in the Act and the Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from <br />this date of filing. <br />The proposed newspaper advertisement submitted with the application should be <br />modified slightly. Please give a general description of the mine location and <br />reference the U.S.G.S 7.5 minute quadrangle map "Somerset" as showing the location <br />of mine facilities. You should commence publication of this advertisement as <br />specified in Rule 2.07,3(2) of the Regulations. Proof of the publication of the <br />advertisement must be filed with the Division not later than four weeks after the <br />last publication date, <br />A copy of the application must be filed for public inspection with the appropriate <br />public office as specified by you on the application form. Any subsequent changes <br />or additions to the application must also be made in this local government copy. <br />The staff is currently reviewing your application to determine whether the items <br />you have submitted are adequate in terms of meeting the requirements of the Act and <br />Regulations.
