PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Grand Valley Coal Company, P.O. Box 70, Loma, Colorado, 81524 has filed with the Colorado Division <br />of Minerals and Geology, an application for a technical revision of the Munger Canyon Mining and <br />Reclamation Permit, CO-020-81. The revision is in response to the Division's mid term review. The azea <br />to be affected is located in portions of Section 21, 27, 28, 29, 33, and 34 of Township 7 South, Range <br />102 West as well as portions of Sections 2, 3, and 4 of Township 8 South, Range 102 W, 6TH PM., <br />Garfield County, Colorado. Portions ofNEl/4 NW1/4 in Section 3 of Township 1 North Range 3 West <br />and SW 1/4 SWl/4 in Section 34 of Township 2 North Range 3 West of the Ute Meridian, Mesa County, <br />Colorado are also included for coal loading facilities. <br />The mine is approximately 18 miles north of Loma, Colorado. The azea is shown on USGS Quadrangles, <br />Howard Canyon and Garvey Canyon. The surface of the proposed permit area is owned by the United <br />States. The proposed date of commencement of the operation is immediately. The proposed postmining <br />use of the affected land is a return to rangeland and wildlife habitat. <br />The loadout is approximately 1/2 mile east of Loma, Colorado. The area is shown on USGS <br />Quadrangle, Mack, Colorado. The surface of the proposed pemut area is owned by the Denver and Rio <br />Grande Western Railroad Company. The proposed date of commencement of the operation is <br />immediately. The proposed postmining use of the affected land is a return to a rail siding. <br />Copies of the application are available for public inspection at the Garfield County Courthouse, <br />Glenwood Springs, Colorado and the Mesa County Courthouse, Grand Junction, Colorado.
