Long <br />Drvrsion Director <br />Pursuant to Title 34, Article 35, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised' <br />Statutes, the Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice that on <br />January 28, 1994, an application to revise a permit to conduct coal mining <br />operations by Western Fuels-Colorado, 405 Urban Street, Suite 305, Lakewood, <br />Colorado 80228, was deemed complete for the purposes of filing. All reviews <br />and comment periods as provided in the Act and Regulations promulgated <br />thereunder initiate from this day of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to update the New Horizon 1 Mine permit document. The <br />revision deletes references to mining operations in the area which was mined <br />out in the past and has now been reclaimed. <br />The New Horizon 1 Mine is located approximately 2.5 miles northwest of the <br />Town of Nucla, Colorado. The area affected by this revision is described as <br />follows: <br />Portions of: SE 1/4 NW 1/4, Section 36, Township 47 North, Range 16 West; <br />NW 1/4 SW 1/4, Section 31, Township 47 North, Range 15 West; <br />SW 1/4 NW 1/4, Section 31, Township 47 North, Range 15 West; <br />W 1/2 E 1/2, Section 6, Township 46 North, Range 15 West. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map <br />of Nucla. Colorado. <br />A copy of the permit revision application is available for public inspection at <br />the Montrose County Courthouse Annex, 300 Main, Nucla, Colorado. Written <br />comments, objections or requests for an informal conference on the permit <br />revision application may be submitted to, and additional information obtained <br />from, the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Shenman Street, <br />Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567.
