Long <br />Divlswn Director <br />Re: Proposed Decision <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 3 (RN-3) <br />Roadside Portals (Permit No. C-1981-041) <br />Dear Mr. & Mrs. Fontanari: <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology is proposing to approve a renewal application for coal mining and <br />reclamation permit. The application was submitted by Powderhom Coal Company on July 7, 1997 for the <br />Roadside Portals. In accordance with Rule 2.07.4(2)(c) of the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board for Coal Mining, we aze providing notice of this proposed decision. <br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal <br />hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the first publication of the public notice by <br />the Division in The Daily Sentinel. <br />The underground mine is located approximately 5 miles north of Palisade. The permit area is further described as <br />follows: <br />Portions of Sections 20, 2l, 22, 23, 26,2 7, 28, 29, 34, and 35, T I OS, R98W, 6th PM; Portions of Sections 6, 7, and <br />18, Tl 1 S, R97W, 6th PM; Portions of Sections I, 2, l I, l2, 13, and 14, TI 1S, R98W, 6th PM; Portions of Section <br />1, T l S, R2E, Ute PM; all in Mesa County. <br />Copies of the renewal application are available for public review in the Division offices at the above address and at <br />the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder's Office.
